Chicken Parmesan Fillet

Posted on July 9, 2025

Here’s a delicious and easy Chicken Parmesan Fillet recipe — crispy breaded chicken fillets topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. It’s a classic Italian-American favorite that works for weeknights or a cozy dinner.

🍝 Chicken Parmesan Fillet

Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced horizontally to make 4 thin fillets

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tbsp milk

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style or panko)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 cup marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or more for frying)

  • Optional: fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

🔪 Instructions:

1. Prep the Chicken

  • Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create 4 thin fillets.

  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder.

2. Set Up Breading Station

  • Place flour in one bowl.

  • Beat eggs with milk in a second bowl.

  • In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and a little more garlic powder.

3. Dredge the Chicken

  • Coat each fillet in flour (shake off excess), dip in egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumb mix, pressing gently to adhere.

4. Fry the Fillets

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Fry chicken for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).

  • Drain on paper towels.

5. Assemble & Bake

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • Place fried chicken fillets on a baking sheet or in a casserole dish.

  • Spoon marinara sauce over each fillet.

  • Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and a little extra Parmesan.

6. Bake

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Optional: broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden top.

7. Serve

  • Garnish with chopped basil or parsley.

  • Serve with spaghetti, garlic bread, or a green salad.

🍽️ Tips:

  • Want it crispier? Use panko breadcrumbs.

  • Low-carb version? Skip the breading and pan-sear the chicken with spices, then top with sauce and cheese.

  • Great for sandwiches, too — just place in a toasted bun with sauce and cheese!
