Posted on June 2, 2025
Here’s a fast, no-yeast Cheesy Quick Bread recipe — golden, savory, and loaded with melty cheese. Perfect as a side for soups, salads, or on its own with a bit of butter!

🧀 Cheesy Quick Bread

🍽️ Servings: 8–10 slices | ⏱️ Ready in 45–50 minutes

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 ½ cups (150 g) shredded cheese (cheddar, Gruyère, or a mix)

  • 2 tbsp chopped chives or parsley (optional)

  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup (60 ml) neutral oil or melted butter

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

  2. Mix dry ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. Add cheese and herbs:
Stir in the shredded cheese and optional chives or herbs.

  4. Combine wet ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, and oil (or melted butter).

  5. Mix batter:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined. Do not overmix (the batter will be thick).

  6. Bake:
Pour into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Cool slightly, then slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.

📝 Variations:

  • Add ¼ tsp smoked paprika or dried thyme for extra depth.

  • Use sharp aged cheddar for bold flavor.

  • Mix in cooked bacon bits or caramelized onions for a savory twist.
