Here’s a simple and delicious Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread recipe—perfect when you want a savory, cheesy loaf without yeast or long rising times!


🧀 Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread Recipe

📝 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or paprika (optional, for flavor)

  • 1 1/2 cups (150 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped chives, green onions, or parsley (optional)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk or buttermilk

  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil or melted butter


🍞 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder or paprika if using.

  3. Add cheese and herbs: Stir in the shredded cheddar and optional herbs until evenly distributed.

  4. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk (or buttermilk), and oil or melted butter.

  5. Combine everything: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined—do not overmix (a few lumps are okay).

  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. Cool: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely (or slice warm if you can’t wait!).

  • You can add cooked bacon bits, sautéed onions, or jalapeños for extra flavor.

  • Use extra-sharp cheddar for the most intense cheesy taste.

  • Great served warm with soups, chili, or just a pat of butter!
