Butterfinger Balls Recipe

Here’s a fun and indulgent recipe for Butterfinger Balls — sweet, crunchy, peanut buttery bites coated in chocolate. Perfect for parties, snacks, or anytime you want a delicious treat!


🍬 Butterfinger Balls

Makes: ~24 balls | Prep Time: 15 min | Chill Time: 1 hour


🧂 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups crushed Butterfinger candy bars (about 4 full-size bars)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 12 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (for coating)

  • Optional: 1 tbsp butter or shortening (for smoother chocolate coating)


🔪 Instructions:

  1. Crush Butterfingers:

    • Place candy bars in a plastic bag and crush finely using a rolling pin or pulse in a food processor.

  2. Mix:

    • In a bowl, combine crushed Butterfinger pieces and softened cream cheese until well blended.

    • Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until dough forms a firm, moldable ball.

  3. Shape Balls:

    • Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. Chill:

    • Refrigerate the balls for at least 1 hour until firm.

  5. Melt Chocolate:

    • Melt chocolate chips (and butter/shortening if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

  6. Coat Balls:

    • Using a fork or toothpick, dip each ball into melted chocolate to coat completely.

    • Return to parchment paper.

  7. Set:

    • Chill again until chocolate is firm (about 30 minutes).


🍽️ Tips:

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

  • For extra flair, drizzle with white chocolate or sprinkle with crushed Butterfinger pieces before chocolate sets.

  • Use peanut butter cups or other candy bars for variations.
