🍪 Classic Butter Cookies

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 tsp pure vanilla extract (or almond extract for variation)

2¼ cups all-purpose flour

½ tsp salt

🥄 Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream the butter and sugar
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes). -
Add egg and vanilla
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined. -
Mix in dry ingredients
Gradually add flour and salt, mixing just until the dough comes together. Don’t overmix. -
Shape the cookies

Option 1: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and flatten slightly.

Option 2: Use a piping bag with a star tip to pipe rosettes or “S” shapes.

Option 3: Roll dough into a log, chill, and slice.
