Balls made of leftover turkey and stuffing

Posted on March 28, 2025
Leftover Turkey and Stuffing Balls are a delicious and creative way to use up your holiday leftovers! These little bite-sized treats are packed with flavor and make for a great snack, appetizer, or even a fun twist on a main dish. You can serve them with a side of gravy, cranberry sauce, or any dip you like!

Here’s how to make these flavorful Turkey and Stuffing Balls:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups leftover cooked turkey, shredded or chopped

  • 2 cups leftover stuffing

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for added flavor)

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (or more if needed to help bind)

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional, for freshness)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme (optional, for extra seasoning)

  • Olive oil or butter (for frying or baking)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Turkey and Stuffing:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the leftover shredded turkey and stuffing.

  • Add the Parmesan cheese (if using), breadcrumbs, beaten egg, chopped parsley, and your seasonings (salt, pepper, and thyme). Stir everything together until well combined. The egg will help bind the ingredients together.

2. Form the Balls:

  • Using your hands, take about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a ball. You can make them as big or small as you like, but they’re usually about the size of a golf ball.

  • If the mixture feels too wet or crumbly, add a little more breadcrumbs or stuffing until the texture is firm enough to hold the shape.

3. Cook the Balls:

  • Pan-Frying: Heat about 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the turkey stuffing balls and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they’re golden brown and crispy on all sides.

  • Baking: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Arrange the turkey stuffing balls on the sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and heated through. You can flip them halfway through for an even crisp.

4. Serve:

  • Once the turkey stuffing balls are golden and crispy, remove them from the pan or oven and let them cool slightly.

  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as gravy, cranberry sauce, or a creamy ranch dressing.

Tips:

  • Add Veggies: For extra texture and flavor, you can mix in some leftover roasted vegetables like carrots, corn, or green beans into the mixture.

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare these balls ahead of time and store them in the fridge for up to 1-2 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months—just bake or fry them directly from the freezer, adding a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time.

  • Flavor Variations: You can add a bit of sage, garlic powder, or onion powder to the mixture to give them a more savory twist.

These Turkey and Stuffing Balls are an awesome way to give new life to your Thanksgiving or holiday leftovers. They’re fun to make, versatile, and everyone will love them! Enjoy!
