🍗 Baked Sweet and Sour Chicken
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:

2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)

1 cup cornstarch

2 large eggs, beaten

¼ cup vegetable oil (for pan-frying)
For the Sweet and Sour Sauce:

¾ cup granulated sugar

½ cup distilled white vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

¼ cup ketchup

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Optional: 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thicker sauce)

1. Preheat Oven:

Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).

Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare and Fry Chicken:

Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.

Dredge each piece in cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Quickly brown chicken on both sides (do not cook through fully).

Transfer browned chicken to the baking dish.
3. Make the Sweet and Sour Sauce:

In a medium bowl, whisk together:
sugar, vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. -

4. Bake the Chicken:
