Baked Potatoes

Posted on June 30, 2025
Here’s a simple, foolproof recipe for making perfect baked potatoes — crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

🥔 Classic Baked Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 4 russet potatoes (best for baking)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

  • Salt (preferably coarse or kosher)

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. Prep the potatoes:

    • Scrub potatoes clean and pat dry.

    • Prick each potato 4–5 times with a fork (to release steam while baking).

    • Rub them with olive oil or butter, then sprinkle generously with salt.

  3. Bake:

    • Place potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet (you can line it with foil).

    • Bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on size.

    • They’re done when the skin is crisp and a fork or skewer slides in easily.

  4. Serve:

    • Let cool for a few minutes, then slice open and fluff the inside with a fork.

    • Add your favorite toppings.

🍽️ Topping Ideas:

  • Classic: Butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, chives, bacon bits

  • Healthy: Greek yogurt, steamed broccoli, avocado, salsa

  • Hearty: Chili, pulled chicken, sautéed mushrooms

📝 Tips:

  • For extra crispy skin, bake directly on the oven rack without foil.

  • Want faster results? Microwave potatoes for 5–6 minutes first, then finish in the oven for 15–20 minutes.
