Baked Potato

Here’s a foolproof and delicious way to make a classic baked potato — crispy skin, fluffy inside, and ready to load with your favorite toppings.


🥔 Perfect Baked Potato

🔸 Ingredients (per potato)

  • 1 large russet potato (ideal for baking)

  • Olive oil or melted butter

  • Coarse kosher salt


🔹 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. Prepare the potato:

    • Scrub the potato clean and dry it thoroughly.

    • Pierce the skin with a fork 4–5 times to let steam escape.

    • Rub with a light coating of olive oil or melted butter.

    • Sprinkle generously with kosher salt for crispy, flavorful skin.

  3. Bake directly on the oven rack (or place on a baking sheet):

    • Bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on size.

    • It’s done when the skin is crisp and a fork easily pierces through the center.

  4. Serve:

    • Slice open, fluff the insides with a fork, and top with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, chives — whatever you like!


✨ Optional Toppings:

  • Sour cream + chives

  • Shredded cheddar + bacon

  • Steamed broccoli + cheese sauce

  • Chili + shredded cheese (loaded style)

  • Salsa + avocado or guacamole


🔁 Time Saver:

You can start it in the microwave for 5–6 minutes, then finish in the oven for 15–20 minutes to crisp the skin.
