Posted on January 30, 2025

Apple Fritter Bites are a fun, bite-sized version of the classic apple fritter—crispy on the outside, soft and apple-filled on the inside, and perfectly sweet! These little treats are easy to make and delicious. Here’s a simple recipe to try:

Apple Fritter Bites Recipe

Ingredients:

For the apple fritter batter:

  • 2 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the apples: Peel, core, and dice the apples into small pieces. Set them aside.
  2. Make the batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Gently fold in the diced apples.
  3. Heat the oil: In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small spoonful of batter in—it should sizzle and float to the top.
  4. Fry the bites: Use a spoon to drop small spoonfuls of the apple fritter batter into the hot oil. Don’t overcrowd the pan; fry in batches. Cook each batch for 2-3 minutes, turning the fritter bites occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fritter bites from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more milk; if too thin, add more powdered sugar.
  6. Glaze the fritters: Once the fritter bites have cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over them or dip each bite into the glaze.
  7. Serve: Serve warm and enjoy these little apple fritter bites! They make the perfect snack or dessert.

These Apple Fritter Bites are crispy, sweet, and packed with apple goodness—definitely a treat that’s hard to resist!
