Here’s a simple, delicious recipe for Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Thighs — juicy, flavorful, and done in under 30 minutes!


🍗 Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

🧂 Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or spray (optional for crispier skin)

For the Teriyaki Sauce (homemade or store-bought):

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp mirin or water

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)


🔥 Instructions:

1. Prep the Chicken:

  • Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels.

  • Lightly season with salt and pepper on both sides.

  • Optional: Marinate in teriyaki sauce (30 mins – overnight) for deeper flavor.

2. Make the Teriyaki Sauce (if homemade):

  1. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, mirin, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.

  2. Bring to a simmer for 3–5 minutes.

  3. Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened. Set aside.

3. Air Fry the Chicken:

  1. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).

  2. Lightly oil the air fryer basket or spray thighs with oil for crispiness.

  3. Place chicken thighs in a single layer, skin-side up if using skin-on.

  4. Cook for 16–18 minutes, flipping halfway through. Internal temp should reach 165°F (74°C).

4. Glaze and Serve:

  • Brush cooked chicken with teriyaki sauce and return to air fryer for 1–2 more minutes to caramelize.

  • Serve with extra sauce on the side.


🍽️ Serving Suggestions:

  • Steamed rice or fried rice

  • Stir-fried vegetables or broccoli

  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions
