Air Fryer Ribeye Steak Recipe

Here’s a simple and juicy Air Fryer Ribeye Steak recipe that gives you a perfectly seared outside and tender, medium-rare (or however you like it) inside — all in under 20 minutes!


🥩 Air Fryer Ribeye Steak

🧺 Ingredients:

  • 1 or 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 to 1.25 inches thick)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

  • Optional: fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs for extra aroma


🔧 Instructions:

1. Prep the Steaks

  • Pat steaks dry with paper towels (important for browning).

  • Rub both sides with olive oil.

  • Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Press the seasoning into the meat.

2. Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3–5 minutes (if your model requires it).

3. Cook the Steaks

  • Place steaks in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Add a sprig of rosemary or thyme on top if desired.

  • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for:

    • Medium-rare: 8–9 minutes (flip halfway)

    • Medium: 10–11 minutes (flip halfway)

    • Well-done: 12–14 minutes (flip halfway)

Cooking times may vary slightly by air fryer model and steak thickness. Use a meat thermometer:

  • Medium-rare: 130–135°F (54–57°C)

  • Medium: 140–145°F (60–63°C)

4. Rest the Steak

  • Transfer steak to a plate, loosely cover with foil, and rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. This helps redistribute juices.


🧈 Optional: Garlic Herb Butter

Mix together:

  • 2 tbsp softened butter

  • 1 small garlic clove, minced

  • 1 tsp chopped parsley

  • Pinch of salt

Add a dollop on top of the steak while it rests for extra flavor!


🍽️ Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, or a simple arugula salad.

  • Leftovers? Slice thin and use in sandwiches, steak salads, or tacos.
