Air Fryer Rib-Eye Steak Recipe

Posted on June 5, 2025

Here’s a simple, juicy, and perfectly seared Air Fryer Rib-Eye Steak Recipe—quick, flavorful, and ideal for any night you’re craving a steakhouse experience at home (without the grill or pan mess!).

🥩 Air Fryer Rib-Eye Steak

Ingredients (Serves 2):

  • 1 or 2 rib-eye steaks (1 to 1¼ inches thick, bone-in or boneless)

  • 1–2 tsp olive oil

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (generous amounts!)

  • Optional: garlic powder, smoked paprika, or steak seasoning blend

  • Optional for topping: 1 tbsp butter per steak + minced garlic and herbs

Instructions:

  1. Bring steaks to room temperature:

    • Let sit out for 20–30 minutes before cooking for even results.

  2. Preheat the air fryer:

    • Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.

  3. Season the steaks:

    • Pat steaks dry with paper towels.

    • Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, and any optional spices.

  4. Air fry the steaks:

    • Place the steaks in the air fryer basket (don’t overcrowd).

    • Cook times (flip halfway):

      • Rare: 8–9 minutes total (4–5 per side)

      • Medium-Rare: 10–11 minutes

      • Medium: 12–13 minutes

      • Well Done: 14–15 minutes

    • Times vary by air fryer and thickness—use a meat thermometer for best results:

      • Rare: 125°F / 52°C

      • Medium-Rare: 130°F / 54°C

      • Medium: 140°F / 60°C

      • Well Done: 155°F+ / 68°C+

  5. Rest the steak:

    • Remove and let rest for 5–10 minutes. Top with a pat of butter or garlic herb butter if desired.

🧈 Optional Garlic Herb Butter:

Mix softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt. Spoon over the steak while it rests—melty and irresistible!

💡 Tips:

  • A meat thermometer is your best friend for perfect doneness.

  • For a crispier crust, brush lightly with melted butter before the final 1–2 minutes.

  • Pair with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
