Air Fryer Potato Slices

Posted on July 31, 2025
Air fryer potato slices are a quick, crispy, and healthier alternative to traditional fried potatoes. Here’s a simple recipe to make them:

🥔 Air Fryer Potato Slices Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet work well)

  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Potatoes:

    • Wash and peel (optional) the potatoes.

    • Slice them evenly into ⅛–¼ inch rounds. Use a mandoline for consistent thickness if you have one.

  2. Soak (Optional but Recommended):

    • Soak the slices in cold water for 15–30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps them crisp up better.

    • Drain and pat them completely dry with a clean towel.

  3. Season:

    • Toss the dry slices in olive oil, salt, and your desired seasonings.

  4. Preheat the Air Fryer:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  5. Air Fry:

    • Place the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.

    • Air fry for 10–15 minutes, flipping halfway through. Thinner slices cook faster.

    • Watch closely the last few minutes to prevent burning.

  6. Serve:

    • Let them cool slightly. Sprinkle with parmesan or herbs if desired. Serve with your favorite dip.

🔁 Variations:

  • Sweet potatoes for a sweeter version.

  • Spicy version: Add cayenne or chili powder.

  • Cheesy: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the hot slices immediately after cooking.

Let me know if you want a version that’s extra crispy, thicker like steak fries, or baked instead
