Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Air Fryer Potato Chips — crispy, golden, and healthier than the deep-fried kind!


🥔 Air Fryer Potato Chips Recipe

📋 Ingredients:

  • 2 medium russet potatoes (or Yukon Gold for a softer chip)

  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil or spray oil

  • Salt, to taste

  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, or vinegar for seasoning


🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Slice the Potatoes

    • Use a mandoline slicer or a very sharp knife to cut potatoes into thin slices (about 1/16 inch or thinner).

  2. Soak the Slices

    • Place slices in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours). This removes excess starch and helps the chips crisp up.

  3. Dry the Slices

    • Drain and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels or a clean dishcloth. Moisture = sogginess.

  4. Oil & Season

    • Toss the slices lightly with olive oil and season with salt (and any additional spices you like).

  5. Preheat Air Fryer

    • Preheat to 360°F (180°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  6. Air Fry in Batches

    • Arrange potato slices in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if needed.

    • Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the chips halfway through.

    • Keep an eye on them in the last few minutes — they can go from golden to burnt quickly!

  7. Cool & Serve

    • Let chips cool for a couple of minutes (they crisp up more as they cool).

    • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container once fully cooled.


🔄 Variations:

  • Salt & Vinegar: Soak slices in white vinegar before drying.

  • Spicy: Add cayenne or chipotle powder.

  • Cheesy: Sprinkle with nutritional yeast or finely grated Parmesan after air frying.
