🥔 Air Fryer Potato Chips Recipe
📋 Ingredients:
-
2 medium russet potatoes (or Yukon Gold for a softer chip)
-
1–2 tablespoons olive oil or spray oil
-
Salt, to taste
-
Optional: garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, or vinegar for seasoning
🧑🍳 Instructions:
-
Slice the Potatoes
-
Use a mandoline slicer or a very sharp knife to cut potatoes into thin slices (about 1/16 inch or thinner).
-
-
Soak the Slices
-
Place slices in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours). This removes excess starch and helps the chips crisp up.
-
-
Dry the Slices
-
Drain and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels or a clean dishcloth. Moisture = sogginess.
-
-
Oil & Season
-
Toss the slices lightly with olive oil and season with salt (and any additional spices you like).
-
-
Preheat Air Fryer
-
Preheat to 360°F (180°C) for 3–5 minutes.
-
-
Air Fry in Batches
-
Arrange potato slices in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if needed.
-
Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the chips halfway through.
-
Keep an eye on them in the last few minutes — they can go from golden to burnt quickly!
-
-
Cool & Serve
-
Let chips cool for a couple of minutes (they crisp up more as they cool).
-
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container once fully cooled.
-
🔄 Variations:
-
Salt & Vinegar: Soak slices in white vinegar before drying.
-
Spicy: Add cayenne or chipotle powder.
-
Cheesy: Sprinkle with nutritional yeast or finely grated Parmesan after air frying.
