Air fryer poached eggs recipe

Posted on April 24, 2025
Poached eggs in an air fryer? Yup, totally doable—and easier than you’d think!  No swirling water or vinegar tricks needed. Here’s a super simple method to get those dreamy, jammy yolks right in your air fryer.

 Air Fryer Poached Eggs

 Ingredients:

  • 1–2 eggs (depending on your air fryer basket size)

  • Cooking spray or a little oil

  • Hot water

 Equipment:

  • Ramekins or small oven-safe bowls (must fit in your air fryer)

 Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for about 3–5 minutes.

  2. Lightly grease your ramekins with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.

  3. Crack 1 egg into each ramekin.

  4. Add hot water (not boiling, just hot from the tap) to each ramekin—about 2–3 tablespoons, just enough to surround the egg and help it poach.

  5. Carefully place the ramekins in the air fryer basket.

  6. Air fry at 370°F for 5–6 minutes for runny yolks, or 7–8 minutes if you prefer a firmer center.

  7. Remove ramekins (carefully—they’ll be hot!), and gently lift the egg out with a slotted spoon.

  8. Drain on a paper towel and serve immediately!

 Tips & Tricks:

  • You can do a “test egg” first since air fryers vary slightly.

  • Don’t skip the hot water—it helps cook the white evenly without overcooking the yolk.

  • Want it on avocado toast? Add chili flakes and a squeeze of lemon for extra flair.

Want a hack for doing a batch of them at once or for different yolk textures? Let me know!
