Air fryer poached eggs

Posted on August 5, 2025

Poaching eggs in an air fryer is a clever hack! While it’s not a traditional method, it can be done with the right technique. Here’s how:

🔸 Air Fryer Poached Eggs

✅ What You Need:

  • Air fryer

  • Ramekins or small oven-safe bowls (1 per egg)

  • Eggs (as many as you want to poach)

  • Hot water (from the kettle or microwave)

  • Cooking spray or a little oil (optional)

🕒 Total Time: ~8–10 minutes

Servings: Flexible

🔹 Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.

  2. Prepare the ramekins:

    • Lightly spray or oil them (optional).

    • Pour about 3 tablespoons of hot water into each ramekin.

  3. Crack an egg into each ramekin (gently to avoid breaking the yolk).

  4. Place the ramekins carefully into the air fryer basket.

  5. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6 to 8 minutes, depending on how runny or set you want the yolk:

    • 6 minutes → runny yolk

    • 7 minutes → soft-set yolk

    • 8 minutes → mostly firm

  6. Remove with tongs (they’ll be hot!), and gently lift the egg out with a slotted spoon.

  7. Serve immediately — great on toast, salads, or bowls!

💡 Tips:

  • Use boiling water if you want to speed up the cooking slightly.

  • If the whites are still too runny after 6 minutes, pop them back in for 1 more minute.

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer — leave room for air circulation.
