Air fryer poached eggs

Posted on June 7, 2025
Poaching eggs in an air fryer isn’t traditional, but it’s absolutely doable with a few tweaks. Here’s a simple method to get soft, poached-style eggs using your air fryer:

Air Fryer Poached Eggs (in Ramekins)

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 small ramekins (or silicone muffin cups)

  • Cooking spray or a little oil

  • Hot water

  • Air fryer

Instructions:

  1. Prep Ramekins:
Lightly grease the ramekins with oil or spray to prevent sticking.

  2. Add Hot Water:
Pour about 3 tablespoons of hot water (from the tap or kettle) into each ramekin. This helps mimic poaching conditions.

  3. Crack the Eggs:
Crack one egg into each ramekin.

  4. Preheat Air Fryer (optional):
Preheat to 340°F (170°C) for a couple of minutes.

  5. Cook:
Place ramekins in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 340°F (170°C) for 5–7 minutes, depending on how runny or set you want the yolk.

  6. Check & Remove:
Carefully lift out the ramekins. The whites should be set and the yolks slightly jiggly for soft-poached.
Use a spoon to gently lift the egg out of the water.

Tips:

  • Add vinegar to the water if you want whites to set firmer (like traditional poaching).

  • If you want more than 2 eggs, work in batches unless your air fryer has space.

  • Results can vary between air fryer models, so you may need to adjust cook time slightly.

Would you like a hard-yolk version or tips for making several at once?
