Air fryer chips

Posted on June 23, 2025
Here’s a simple guide to making crispy air fryer chips (fries) — whether you prefer them from scratch or frozen:

🥔 Homemade Air Fryer Chips (Fries)

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 large potatoes (e.g., Maris Piper, Russet)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt, pepper, and optional seasonings (paprika, garlic powder, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the potatoes:

    • Peel (optional) and cut into chips (around 1 cm thick).

    • Soak in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch (this helps crisp them up).

    • Drain and pat completely dry with a towel.

  2. Season:

    • Toss in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and any seasonings you like.

  3. Air fry:

    • Preheat air fryer to 190°C (375°F).

    • Spread chips in a single layer in the basket (work in batches if needed).

    • Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

    • If not golden/crispy, cook 3–5 minutes more.

  4. Serve hot with ketchup, mayo, or your dip of choice.

🍟 Frozen Chips in the Air Fryer

Instructions:

  1. Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Add frozen chips (no oil needed).

  3. Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway through.

  4. Add seasoning after cooking if desired.
