🍗 Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders
Ingredients:
-
1 lb (450g) chicken tenders (or chicken breasts cut into strips)
-
1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice, let sit 5 min)
-
1 cup breadcrumbs or panko (for extra crunch)
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan (optional, for flavor)
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1/2 tsp onion powder
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Olive oil spray or cooking spray
Instructions:
1. Marinate the Chicken (Optional but recommended):
-
Soak chicken tenders in buttermilk for 15–30 minutes (or up to overnight in the fridge).
-
This keeps them juicy and tender.
2. Prep the Breading:
-
In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Bread the Tenders:
-
Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off.
-
Press each piece into the breadcrumb mixture, coating well on all sides.
4. Air Fry:
-
Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
-
Place tenders in a single layer in the basket (don’t overcrowd).
-
Lightly spray both sides with oil spray.
-
Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and internal temp reaches 165°F (75°C).
Serving Ideas:
-
Serve with honey mustard, ranch, BBQ sauce, or a spicy mayo dip.
-
Pair with fries, salad, or wrap them in a tortilla for a chicken wrap.
