Posted on April 30, 2025
Here’s a super easy and crispy recipe for Air Fryer Chicken Tenders—juicy inside, golden outside, and ready in under 20 minutes. Great for kids, snacks, or a healthier take on classic fried chicken!

🍗 Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) chicken tenders (or chicken breasts cut into strips)

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice, let sit 5 min)

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko (for extra crunch)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan (optional, for flavor)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Chicken (Optional but recommended):

  • Soak chicken tenders in buttermilk for 15–30 minutes (or up to overnight in the fridge).

  • This keeps them juicy and tender.

2. Prep the Breading:

  • In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Bread the Tenders:

  • Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off.

  • Press each piece into the breadcrumb mixture, coating well on all sides.

4. Air Fry:

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  • Place tenders in a single layer in the basket (don’t overcrowd).

  • Lightly spray both sides with oil spray.

  • Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and internal temp reaches 165°F (75°C).

Serving Ideas:

  • Serve with honey mustard, ranch, BBQ sauce, or a spicy mayo dip.

  • Pair with fries, salad, or wrap them in a tortilla for a chicken wrap.
