Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks

Here’s a tasty and easy recipe for Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks — juicy on the inside, perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, with minimal oil and maximum flavor.


🍗 Ingredients:

  • 6–8 chicken drumsticks (about 2–2.5 lbs)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne for a bit of heat

🔥 Instructions:

1. Prep the Chicken:

  • Pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, toss drumsticks with olive oil.
  • Mix all spices in a small bowl, then sprinkle over the chicken and toss to coat evenly.

2. Air Fry:

  • Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  • Place drumsticks in a single layer in the basket (don’t overcrowd).
  • Air fry for 25–28 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Check internal temperature — it should reach 165°F (74°C), but 175–180°F gives even juicier, more tender results for dark meat.

3. Serve:

  • Let rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.
  • Optional: brush with BBQ sauce, buffalo sauce, or honey garlic glaze in the last 5 minutes of cooking for added flavor.

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Pair with baked potatoes, coleslaw, corn on the cob, or a fresh green salad.
  • Leftovers make great protein for wraps or salads the next day.
