Bacon Cheddar Ranch Cheese Ball Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (about 6-8 slices)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped (or 2 tablespoons dried ranch seasoning)
  • 1 tablespoon ranch dressing mix (or 2-3 tablespoons prepared ranch dressing)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Extra crumbled bacon and chopped green onions (for rolling the cheese ball, optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the cheese mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, green onions (or dried ranch seasoning), ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Use a hand mixer or spatula to blend everything together until smooth and fully incorporated.

2. Form the cheese ball:

  • Once everything is well-mixed, scoop the mixture into a ball shape. Use your hands to mold it into a round cheese ball. You can make it as large or small as you prefer.
  • Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to help it firm up.

3. Roll the cheese ball (optional):

  • Once the cheese ball is chilled, remove it from the fridge. Roll it in additional crumbled bacon and chopped green onions for extra flavor and texture. You can also use fresh parsley as a garnish to add color.

4. Serve:

  • Serve the cheese ball with crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables like celery, carrot sticks, and cucumber slices. You can also serve it with toasted baguette slices or pretzel crisps.

Tips:

  • If you prefer a smoother cheese ball, you can blend the mixture in a food processor.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a teaspoon of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to give the cheese ball a little kick.
  • You can substitute the cooked bacon with crumbled turkey bacon or even pancetta for a different taste.
