Here’s a recipe for a Low-Calorie Chocolate Mousse that’s rich and creamy without the guilt! It’s made with lighter ingredients but still delivers a satisfying chocolate flavor.

Low-Calorie Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey or a sugar substitute (like stevia or erythritol, depending on your preference)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips (optional, for melting and added richness)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the chocolate (optional):
    • If you’re using dark chocolate chips, melt them in the microwave or using a double boiler. Let it cool slightly before adding it to the mousse mixture for a richer taste.
  2. Mix the mousse base:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey (or your chosen sweetener), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. If using melted chocolate, stir it in at this point.
  3. Blend:
    • Once the ingredients are well combined, taste and adjust the sweetness if needed. You can add a little more honey or sweetener to suit your taste.
  4. Chill:
    • Refrigerate the mousse for at least 30 minutes to allow it to firm up and chill. This helps the flavors meld together.
  5. Serve:
    • Spoon the mousse into small serving dishes or glasses. Optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream (light or sugar-free for a healthier touch).

Tips:

  • If you want an extra creamy texture, you can blend the mixture using a hand blender or stand blender to make it even smoother.
  • For extra indulgence, you could fold in a small amount of whipped coconut cream or low-fat whipped topping right before serving.
