The Flaky and Creamy Treat, the Delectable Cream Puff Cake

Here’s a recipe for a Delectable Cream Puff Cake, which is a light, flaky dessert with a rich, creamy filling. It’s basically a giant cream puff that’s easy to make and super delicious!

Delectable Cream Puff Cake

Ingredients:

For the Cake Layer:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping (optional):

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Chocolate drizzle (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. Make the Cake Layer:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the water and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the butter is melted and the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and add the flour and salt all at once. Stir quickly until the dough comes together and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  • Let the dough cool for a few minutes. Then, add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. The dough should be smooth and thick.
  • Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffy. Don’t open the oven door while baking, as it may cause the dough to deflate.

3. Make the Filling:

  • While the cake layer is baking, prepare the creamy filling. In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
  • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until stiff peaks form. The whipped cream should be thick and fluffy.

4. Assemble the Cream Puff Cake:

  • Once the cake layer has cooled completely, gently poke holes in it with a fork to ensure the filling will spread evenly.
  • Spread the whipped cream filling evenly over the cooled cake layer.

5. Optional Toppings:

  • If desired, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar for a light, sweet finish.
  • You can also drizzle melted chocolate over the top for an extra indulgent touch!

6. Serve:

  • Cut the cream puff cake into squares and serve chilled. It’s best served immediately after assembly, but it can also be stored in the fridge for a day or two.
