Easiest Deep Pan Chocolate Chip

Here’s an easy recipe for a deep pan chocolate chip cookie that’s soft and gooey in the center with a crispy edge—perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: A pinch of sea salt for sprinkling on top

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a deep pan (around 9-inch or 10-inch) or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
    • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until everything is fully combined.
  3. Add the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  4. Stir in the Chocolate Chips:
    • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula, ensuring they’re evenly distributed in the dough.
  5. Press the Dough into the Pan:
    • Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan. Use the back of a spoon or your hands to press it down evenly.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set but still soft. You can insert a toothpick into the center—if it comes out with just a few crumbs, it’s done.
  7. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the cookie cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. If you like it extra gooey, serve while it’s still warm!
    • Optionally, sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt on top for a little added flavor contrast.
