Mini Tater Tot Cheeseburgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional for added flavor)
  • 8 small slices of cheddar cheese (or any cheese you prefer)
  • Ketchup and mustard (for serving)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • Pickles, sliced (optional)
  • Lettuce, shredded (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the tater tots:
    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or follow the instructions on the tater tot package.
    • Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Flip halfway through for even crisping.
  2. Make the mini burgers:
    • While the tater tots are baking, form the ground beef into mini burger patties (about 12-14 small patties, depending on the size you want). Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
    • Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper. You can also add a bit of Worcestershire sauce to the beef for extra flavor, if desired.
  3. Cook the mini burgers:
    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat, or use a grill pan if you prefer.
    • Cook the patties for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
  4. Assemble the mini tater tot cheeseburgers:
    • Once the tater tots are done, remove them from the oven and set them aside.
    • For each mini burger, stack a tater tot, a mini burger patty with melted cheese, and another tater tot on top. You can secure them with toothpicks to keep everything together if needed.
  5. Garnish and serve:
    • Top with your choice of toppings: ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, or shredded lettuce.
