Posted on September 26, 2025

Absolutely! Here’s a classic, soft, gooey Cinnamon Roll recipe with a rich cinnamon-sugar filling and creamy vanilla glaze β€” perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. These are fluffy, indulgent, and better than store-bought!

πŸ₯✨ Classic Cinnamon Rolls

πŸ“ Dough Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

  • 1 cup warm milk (110Β°F / 43Β°C)

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 large egg

πŸ“ Filling Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon

  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg or 1/2 cup chopped pecans

πŸ“ Vanilla Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp milk

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Optional: 2 oz cream cheese for a richer glaze

πŸ₯£ Instructions:

1. Make the Dough:

  1. Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast with a pinch of sugar. Let sit 5–10 min until foamy.

  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, egg, and salt.

  3. Add the yeast mixture, then stir in flour gradually (start with 3 1/2 cups).

  4. Knead for 5–7 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic (add more flour if sticky).

  5. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.

2. Make the Filling:

  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

  • Roll dough out into a rectangle (approx. 16×12 inches).

  • Spread softened butter over dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar evenly.

3. Shape & Cut:

  • Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log.

  • Slice into 12 rolls and place into a greased 9×13 baking dish.

4. Second Rise:

  • Cover and let rolls rise again for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.

5. Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

  • Bake rolls for 20–25 minutes, until golden and set but still soft.

    • Tip: Don’t overbake or they’ll dry out.

6. Make the Glaze:

  • Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla (and cream cheese if using).

  • Spread over warm rolls right out of the oven so it melts in beautifully.

πŸ”„ Optional Variations:

  • Sticky buns: Add a caramel glaze with chopped pecans at the bottom of the pan.

  • Overnight version: After shaping, refrigerate the pan overnight. Let sit at room temp 30–60 minutes before baking.

  • Mini rolls: Cut smaller slices and reduce bake time slightly.
