Sure! Here’s a flavorful and classic Pepper Steak recipe — tender strips of beef stir-fried with bell peppers and onions in a savory, slightly tangy sauce. Perfect served over rice or noodles for a quick, satisfying meal.

🥩🌶️ Pepper Steak

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for depth)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)

  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced into strips

  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced into strips

  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

🥣 Instructions:

1. Marinate the Beef:

  • In a bowl, toss sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.

2. Cook the Beef:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  • Add beef in a single layer and sear until browned but not fully cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  • Remove beef and set aside.

3. Sauté the Veggies:

  • In the same pan, add remaining oil.

  • Add garlic, then sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add bell peppers and onion; stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.

4. Make the Sauce & Combine:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

  • Return beef to the pan.

  • Pour sauce over everything and stir to combine.

  • Cook for another 3–4 minutes until beef is cooked through and sauce thickens slightly.

5. Serve:

  • Garnish with sliced green onions.

  • Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

🔄 Variations:

  • Add mushrooms, snap peas, or baby corn for extra veggies.

  • Use chicken or tofu instead of beef for different proteins.

  • For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
