Mediterranean Olive Oil Dip

Posted on September 24, 2025

Here’s a Mediterranean Olive Oil Dip that’s bold, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make — perfect for dipping warm bread, drizzling over grilled vegetables, or even using as a quick salad dressing base.

🫒 Mediterranean Olive Oil Dip

📝 Ingredients:

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil (the good stuff!)

  • 1–2 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 1–2 tbsp balsamic vinegar or lemon juice (your choice)

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan or crumbled feta (optional, adds richness)

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes (optional)

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Chopped fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. In a shallow bowl or small serving dish, pour the olive oil.

  2. Stir in the garlic, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes.

  3. Add the balsamic vinegar or lemon juice and mix gently.

  4. Optional: Sprinkle in cheese and/or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Garnish with fresh herbs just before serving.

🥖 Serve with:

  • Warm crusty bread (ciabatta, sourdough, or pita)

  • Pita chips or crackers

  • As a dip alongside hummus and labneh on a mezze platter

🔄 Variations:

  • Swap in za’atar for a more Middle Eastern flavor.

  • Add a spoon of harissa or Aleppo pepper for a spicy kick.

  • Use fresh garlic confit for a mellow, rich twist.

  • Drizzle a little pomegranate molasses instead of balsamic for a tangy-sweet variation.
