No-Bake Banana Flan Recipe (Without Sugar or Flour)

Here’s a No-Bake Banana Flan recipe that’s healthy and doesn’t require sugar or flour! The natural sweetness of bananas will shine through, making this a lighter dessert option. It’s creamy, smooth, and easy to make—perfect for a delicious treat with fewer ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas (preferably very ripe for sweetness)
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) full-fat coconut milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional, for added flavor)
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric (for a subtle yellow color and a health boost)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds (for thickening)
  • 2 tbsp gelatin (or agar agar for a plant-based option)
  • 2 tbsp water (for blooming the gelatin)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Gelatin:
    • In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 2 tbsp of water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes. It will absorb the water and become a gel-like texture.
  2. Blend the Ingredients:
    • In a blender, combine the ripe bananas, coconut milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if using), and turmeric. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Melt the Gelatin:
    • Once the gelatin has bloomed, gently heat it over low heat in a small saucepan. Stir constantly until the gelatin completely dissolves (about 1-2 minutes). Be careful not to let it boil.
  4. Mix Everything Together:
    • Slowly add the dissolved gelatin to the banana mixture in the blender, and blend again for a few seconds to fully incorporate the gelatin.
  5. Set the Flan:
    • Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or one large dish, and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or until the flan has set and is firm.
  6. Serve:
    • Once the banana flan has set, you can serve it as is or top it with a little extra banana slices, crushed nuts, or even a dusting of cinnamon if desired.
