  • Homemade dumplings:

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour

    • 2 tsp baking powder

    • ½ tsp salt

    • 2 tbsp cold butter

🥣 Instructions:

1. Assemble in Crock Pot

  • Place diced onion, garlic, chicken, both soups, chicken broth, and all seasonings in the slow cooker.

  • Stir gently to combine.

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until chicken is tender.

2. Shred Chicken

  • Once the chicken is cooked, remove it with tongs, shred it with two forks, and return it to the slow cooker.

  • Stir in frozen peas and carrots (if using).

3. Add Dumplings

  • If using biscuit dough: Cut into small pieces (quarters) and place them evenly on top of the mixture. Gently press them in so they’re partially submerged.

    • Drop small spoonfuls (about a tablespoon each) into the slow cooker.

4. Cook Dumplings

  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 to 1.5 hours, until dumplings are cooked through and fluffy. Don’t lift the lid during this time.

5. Final Stir & Serve

  • Gently stir, taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

  • Serve warm, ideally with a sprinkle of fresh parsley.

🍽️ Tips for Success:

  • Don’t over-stir once dumplings are added – they need time and steam to cook properly.

  • Add a splash of heavy cream at the end for extra richness.

  • Goes well with a side of green beans or a light salad.
