Ah, classic Italian Hoagiesβ€”a perfect sub sandwich packed with savory Italian meats, cheese, crisp veggies, and tangy dressing. Great for lunch, picnics, or game day!

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 4 hoagie rolls or Italian sub rolls (about 6–8 inches each)

  • 6 oz thinly sliced Genoa salami

  • 6 oz thinly sliced ham (like Black Forest or deli ham)

  • 6 oz thinly sliced capicola or prosciutto (optional)

  • 6 oz provolone cheese slices

  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce or thinly sliced romaine

  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced

  • Β½ medium red onion, thinly sliced

  • ΒΌ cup pepperoncini or banana peppers, sliced

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • Optional: sliced cucumber or green bell peppers

πŸ”Ή 1. Prepare the Rolls

  • Slice each hoagie roll lengthwise, leaving a hinge.

  • If desired, lightly toast the rolls for crunch.

  • On each roll, layer salami, ham, and capicola/prosciutto evenly.

  • Top meats with provolone cheese slices.
