Fresh Cream Donut.

Ooooh, fresh cream donuts — soft, fluffy, and filled with sweet cream! Here’s a simple recipe to make those delicious cream-filled donuts at home.


Fresh Cream Donuts

Ingredients:

For the donuts:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • ½ cup warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C)

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 large eggs

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

For the fresh cream filling:

  • 1 cup heavy cream, cold

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For dusting:

  • Powdered sugar or granulated sugar


Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast:
    In a small bowl, mix warm milk and yeast with a pinch of sugar. Let it sit 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Make the dough:
    In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add eggs, butter, and the yeast mixture. Mix and knead (by hand or mixer) until smooth and elastic — about 8-10 minutes.

  3. First rise:
    Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.

  4. Shape the donuts:
    Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ½ inch (1.2 cm) thickness. Cut out circles with a donut cutter or two different sized round cutters (or a glass and a bottle cap).

  5. Second rise:
    Place the cut dough circles on a floured tray, cover with a cloth, and let them rise another 30-45 minutes until puffed.

  6. Fry:
    Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts a few at a time, turning once, until golden brown (about 1-2 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.

  7. Prepare cream filling:
    Whip the cold heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

  8. Fill the donuts:
    Once cooled, use a piping bag with a small tip to fill each donut with fresh cream.

  9. Dust and serve:
    Dust donuts with powdered sugar and enjoy fresh!
