Here’s a hearty, juicy, and flavorful Air Fryer Garlic Steak and Potato Foil Packet recipe — the perfect all-in-one meal. It’s easy, quick, and ideal for weeknights or camping vibes at home, with minimal cleanup!


🥩 Air Fryer Garlic Steak and Potato Foil Packets

📝 Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

For the Packets:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 2 cups baby potatoes, halved or quartered (red or gold)

  • 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)

  • ½ red onion, sliced (optional)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Optional: fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs

To Finish:

  • 1 tbsp butter per packet (for melting on top)

  • Fresh parsley for garnish


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Set air fryer to 390°F (200°C). Let it preheat while you prep the packets.

2. Par-Cook the Potatoes (Recommended)

  • Microwave potatoes with a splash of water in a covered bowl for 3–4 minutes to soften them slightly (optional but helps everything cook evenly).

3. Assemble the Foil Packets

  1. In a bowl, toss steak, potatoes, garlic, olive oil, and all seasonings together.

  2. Divide mixture evenly between 2 large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil.

  3. Add a small piece of butter and a sprig of rosemary or thyme on top.

  4. Fold the foil tightly into packets — seal all edges well to trap steam.

4. Cook in Air Fryer

  • Place the foil packets in the air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if needed).

  • Air fry for 16–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

    • Start checking around the 15-minute mark — steak should be tender and cooked to desired doneness; potatoes fork-tender.

5. Serve

  • Carefully open the packets (watch for hot steam).

  • Garnish with chopped parsley or extra butter.

  • Serve straight from the foil or plate with a side salad or crusty bread.


🧄 Tips & Variations

  • Doneness control: For medium-rare steak, cook for less time or add steak halfway through the potato cooking.

  • Veggie options: Add mushrooms, zucchini, or cherry tomatoes.

  • Cheesy finish: Sprinkle shredded cheese in the last 2–3 minutes of cooking (after opening the foil).

  • No foil? Use an air fryer-safe baking dish, but the foil keeps everything juicy and easy to clean.
