🥢 Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli
Prep time: 10 minutes

Servings: 4–6
Ingredients:
-
1.5–2 lbs (700–900g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced across the grain
-
1 cup beef broth
-
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
-
1/3 cup brown sugar
-
1 tbsp sesame oil (optional)
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced (or 1 tsp ground ginger)
-
1/4 cup cornstarch
-
2–3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
-
Cooked white rice, for serving
-
Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
Add to slow cooker:
Place sliced beef in the slow cooker. -
Mix sauce:
In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil (if using), garlic, and ginger. Pour over the beef. -
Cook:
-
Low: 4–5 hours
-
High: Not recommended — the beef can overcook and get chewy.
-
-
Thicken the sauce:
About 30 minutes before serving, mix 1/4 cup cornstarch with 1/4 cup water until smooth. Stir into the slow cooker. -
Add broccoli:
Add broccoli to the slow cooker at the same time as the cornstarch. Stir well. (If using frozen broccoli, rinse under warm water first to thaw slightly.) -
Finish cooking:
Let it cook for another 30 minutes on low, until the sauce thickens and broccoli is tender. -
Serve:
Spoon over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if you like.
