🥐 Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls

🕒 Prep Time: 10 min | ⏳ Cook Time: 12–15 min

🔢 Yield: 8 rolls (1 tube of crescent rolls)

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 (8-count) can refrigerated crescent roll dough

  • ½ lb (225g) breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or plant-based)

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)

  • Optional:

    • 2 eggs, scrambled (for extra protein)

    • Dash of hot sauce or chopped chives for flavor

    • Maple syrup or honey butter for serving

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 375°F (190°C).

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Cook the Sausage

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles.

  • Drain excess grease.

(Optional: Scramble the eggs in the same pan with the sausage once it’s cooked.)

3. Assemble the Rolls

  • Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.

  • On the wide end of each triangle, place:

    • A spoonful of cooked sausage

    • A pinch of shredded cheese

    • (Optional) A spoonful of scrambled egg

  • Roll up each triangle, starting from the wide end toward the point, enclosing the filling.

4. Bake

  • Place rolls on prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

5. Serve

  • Serve warm as-is, or with a drizzle of maple syrup, hot sauce, or a side of fruit.

❄️ Make-Ahead / Freezer Instructions

  • To Freeze (Before Baking): Assemble rolls and freeze on a tray. Once solid, transfer to a zip bag. Bake straight from frozen at 350°F for 18–20 minutes.

  • To Freeze (After Baking): Cool completely, then freeze. Reheat in toaster oven or microwave.
