Sausage Balls

Posted on August 26, 2025
Here’s a crowd-pleasing recipe for Sausage Balls β€” a classic appetizer that’s cheesy, savory, and super easy to make with just a few ingredients.

πŸ§€ Sausage Balls

πŸ•’ Total Time: 30–35 minutes

🍽️ Yields: About 24–30 balls

πŸ§‚ Ingredients:

  • 1 lb uncooked pork sausage (mild, hot, or breakfast-style)

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix (or similar all-purpose baking mix)

  • Optional: 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp paprika

  • Optional dip: ranch, honey mustard, or spicy mayo

πŸ”ͺ Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with nonstick spray.

  2. Mix ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine the raw sausage, cheddar cheese, and Bisquick mix.

    • Add any optional seasonings if using.

    • Use your hands (or a stand mixer with paddle) to mix until fully combined. The dough will be thick and slightly crumbly but should hold together when formed.

  3. Form into balls:

    • Roll into 1-inch balls and place them about 1 inch apart on the baking sheet.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp should hit 160Β°F).

  5. Cool slightly & serve:

    • Let cool for a few minutes before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.

πŸ“ Tips:

  • Too dry? Add a tablespoon or two of milk or water to help the mixture come together.

  • Want extra flavor? Use spicy sausage or add a pinch of crushed red pepper.

  • Make ahead: You can mix and roll the balls ahead of time, then refrigerate or freeze before baking.
