Here’s a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe β€” soft, chewy, with crisp edges and melty chocolate chips. Perfect for baking anytime the craving hits!

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cream the butter & sugars:

    • In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until creamy (about 2–3 minutes).

  3. Add eggs & vanilla:

    • Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.

  4. Mix dry ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

    • Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.

  5. Add chocolate chips:

    • Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).

  6. Scoop dough:

    • Drop by rounded tablespoon (or use a cookie scoop) onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.

  7. Bake:

    • Bake for 9–11 minutes, until the edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.

  8. Cool:

    • Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.


🍫 Tips:

  • For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30+ minutes before baking.

  • Want bakery-style cookies? Use chunks of chocolate instead of chips and sprinkle with a little sea salt before baking.
