Air Fryer Cheddar, Onion, and Bacon Potatoes

Here’s a delicious, savory, and crispy recipe for Air Fryer Cheddar, Onion, and Bacon Potatoes — like loaded potato skins but easier and faster. Perfect as a side dish or even a game-day snack!


Air Fryer Cheddar, Onion, and Bacon Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1½ lbs baby potatoes or Yukon golds (cut into quarters or ½-inch chunks)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ½ small red or yellow onion, finely diced

  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

  • Optional: sour cream, green onions, or chives for garnish


Instructions:

  1. Prep the Potatoes:

    • Wash and cut potatoes into bite-sized chunks.

    • Toss with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. Cook in Air Fryer:

    • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

    • Place potatoes in the basket in a single layer (you can cook in batches if needed).

    • Air fry for 15–18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and tender.

  3. Add Onion, Bacon & Cheese:

    • When potatoes are nearly done (about the last 3–4 minutes), sprinkle crumbled bacon and diced onion over the potatoes.

    • Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

    • Return to air fryer and cook for 3–4 minutes more, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. Serve:

    • Garnish with chopped green onions, chives, or a dollop of sour cream if desired.

    • Serve hot!


Tips & Variations:

  • Shortcut: Use pre-cooked bacon or bacon bits for faster prep.

  • Extra flavor: Add a pinch of smoked paprika or ranch seasoning to the oil mix.

  • No baby potatoes? Use russets or red potatoes — just cut them small enough for quick cooking.

  • Make it spicy: Toss in some jalapeños or crushed red pepper.
