Here’s a quick, savory, and seriously addictive recipe for Crispy Garlic Mushrooms — golden, garlicky, and perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.

🍄 Crispy Garlic Mushrooms

📝 Ingredients:

  • 16 oz (450 g) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed

  • 2–3 tablespoons olive oil (or butter, or a mix)

  • 5–6 garlic cloves, finely minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 1–2 teaspoons fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

  • Optional: grated Parmesan, lemon juice, or chopped parsley for garnish

🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep the Mushrooms:

  • Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth (don’t soak them).

  • Keep small mushrooms whole, halve or quarter large ones.

2. Sauté Without Stirring (The Key to Crispiness):

  • Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Add mushrooms in a single layer, cut-side down if halved.
Don’t stir for 4–5 minutes — let them brown and crisp up.

3. Add Garlic & Flip:

  • Flip mushrooms and cook another 3–4 minutes until golden brown.

  • Add garlic, herbs (if using), salt, pepper, and chili flakes.

  • Sauté for 1–2 minutes until garlic is fragrant and just golden — not burnt.

4. Finish & Serve:

  • Optional: Add a squeeze of lemon juice or sprinkle of Parmesan.

  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley or more herbs.

🧑‍🍳 Tips:

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan — mushrooms need space to crisp.

  • Works great with shiitake, oyster, or portobello mushrooms too.

  • Add a splash of soy sauce or balsamic at the end for a flavor boost.
