Posted on August 6, 2025

Here’s a simple and delicious Milk & Fruit Dessert recipe you can try—perfect for summer or when you’re craving something light and refreshing:

🍓 Milk & Fruit Dessert (Chilled Fruit Custard)

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk (full-fat recommended)

  • 2 tablespoons custard powder (vanilla or your favorite flavor)

  • 3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • 1/2 cup chopped apples

  • 1/2 cup chopped bananas

  • 1/2 cup chopped grapes

  • 1/2 cup chopped mangoes or strawberries (seasonal fruits work best)

  • Nuts & raisins (optional – almonds, cashews, pistachios)

🥣 Instructions:

  1. Mix custard powder:

    • In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of custard powder with ¼ cup of cold milk. Stir well to avoid lumps.

  2. Boil milk:

    • In a saucepan, bring the remaining milk to a boil. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.

  3. Add custard mix:

    • Lower the heat and slowly pour the custard mixture into the boiling milk, stirring continuously.

    • Cook on low heat for 3–5 minutes until it thickens. Turn off heat and let it cool.

  4. Chill:

    • Once cool, refrigerate the custard for at least 1–2 hours.

  5. Add fruits:

    • Just before serving, mix in the chopped fruits and nuts (if using).

  6. Serve chilled:

    • Garnish with mint leaves, chopped nuts, or a drizzle of honey if desired.

💡 Tips:

  • Avoid adding citrus fruits like oranges or pineapple—they may curdle the milk.

  • Only mix fruits before serving to keep them fresh and prevent browning.

  • You can swap custard powder with cornflour and vanilla extract if needed.
