Poaching eggs in an air fryer is a clever hack! While it’s not a traditional method, it can be done with the right technique. Here’s how:
🔸 Air Fryer Poached Eggs
✅ What You Need:
-
Air fryer
-
Ramekins or small oven-safe bowls (1 per egg)
-
Eggs (as many as you want to poach)
-
Hot water (from the kettle or microwave)
-
Cooking spray or a little oil (optional)
🕒 Total Time: ~8–10 minutes
Servings: Flexible
🔹 Instructions:
-
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.
-
Prepare the ramekins:
-
Lightly spray or oil them (optional).
-
Pour about 3 tablespoons of hot water into each ramekin.
-
-
Crack an egg into each ramekin (gently to avoid breaking the yolk).
-
Place the ramekins carefully into the air fryer basket.
-
Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6 to 8 minutes, depending on how runny or set you want the yolk:
-
6 minutes → runny yolk
-
7 minutes → soft-set yolk
-
8 minutes → mostly firm
-
-
Remove with tongs (they’ll be hot!), and gently lift the egg out with a slotted spoon.
-
Serve immediately — great on toast, salads, or bowls!
💡 Tips:
-
Use boiling water if you want to speed up the cooking slightly.
-
If the whites are still too runny after 6 minutes, pop them back in for 1 more minute.
-
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer — leave room for air circulation.
