Air fryer poached eggs

Posted on August 2, 2025

Poaching eggs in an air fryer might sound unconventional, but it’s totally doable—and mess-free—with the right method. While it’s not true poaching (since there’s no swirling water involved), it gives you soft, runny yolks and tender whites in just a few minutes.

🥚 Air Fryer “Poached” Eggs

⏰ Time: 6–9 minutes

🍽️ Serves: As many as you want

🔥 Temp: 350°F (175°C)

🧂 Ingredients

  • Fresh eggs

  • Cooking spray or oil

  • Water (1–2 tablespoons per ramekin)

  • Salt & pepper (optional, for serving)

🍳 Equipment Needed

  • Air fryer

  • Ramekins or silicone muffin cups that fit your air fryer basket

  • Tongs or oven mitts

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep Ramekins
Lightly spray ramekins with oil or nonstick spray. Add 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of water to each.

  2. Add Eggs
Crack one egg into each ramekin. (Tip: Crack into a small bowl first to avoid shell pieces.)

  3. Air Fry
Place ramekins in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 350°F (175°C) for about:

    • 6–7 minutes for runny yolks

    • 8–9 minutes for medium-set yolks

(Times can vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and ramekin size.)

  4. Remove and Serve
Carefully remove ramekins (they’ll be hot!). Use a spoon to gently lift the egg out.
Serve immediately over toast, salads, or grain bowls.

🧩 Tips

  • Don’t skip the water—it’s key to steaming the egg gently.

  • If the whites aren’t fully set at 6 minutes, continue checking every 30 seconds.

  • Try seasoning the water with a pinch of salt or a splash of vinegar for flavor.
