1 slice bread (any kind โ white, wheat, sourdough, brioche)

1 egg

1 tbsp butter (or oil)

Salt and pepper, to taste
๐ช Instructions:

Cut the hole:

Use a small glass or biscuit cutter to cut a hole (about 2โ2.5 inches wide) in the center of the bread.

Toast the bread:

Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.

Place the bread (and the cut-out circle if you like) into the pan.

Add the egg:

Crack the egg into the hole. Let it cook for 1โ2 minutes until the whites start to set.

Flip (optional):

Carefully flip the bread and egg with a spatula to cook the other side, about 1โ2 more minutes, depending on how runny you like the yolk.
