  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups beef broth (low sodium)

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • Optional: splash of cream or a pat of butter for richness

  • Optional add-ins: frozen peas or mushrooms

For the Mashed Potatoes:
  • 2 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and cubed

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 cup milk or cream (more as needed)

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional: sour cream or roasted garlic for extra flavor

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Make the Mashed Potatoes:

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15–20 minutes).

  2. Drain and return to pot. Mash with butter and milk until smooth.

  3. Season with salt (and optional sour cream or garlic). Cover and keep warm.

2. Cook the Ground Beef:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.

  2. Add chopped onion and garlic; cook until softened (3–4 minutes).

  3. Drain excess fat if needed.

3. Make the Gravy:

  1. Sprinkle flour over beef mixture and stir well to coat.

  2. Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.

  3. Add Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and season to taste.

  4. Simmer for 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Add butter or cream if desired.

4. Serve:

  • Spoon a generous scoop of mashed potatoes onto plates or bowls.

  • Ladle the savory ground beef and gravy mixture over the top.

  • Optional: garnish with chopped parsley or black pepper.

🔁 Variations:

  • Make it Shepherd’s Pie style by baking it in a casserole dish.

  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.

  • Stir in veggies like peas, carrots, or corn for extra nutrition.
