Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pockets — perfect as a snack, lunch, or even a party appetizer!

🧀 Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pockets

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

  • 4–6 slices of deli ham (thinly sliced)

  • 4–6 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, provolone, or your favorite)

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

  • Optional: Dijon mustard or honey mustard for extra flavor

  • Optional: Poppy seeds or sesame seeds for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare Puff Pastry
Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly on a floured surface. Cut into 4 or 6 equal rectangles, depending on how large you want your pockets.

  3. Add Fillings

    • Spread a small amount of mustard (if using) in the center of each rectangle.

    • Layer ham and cheese on one half of each rectangle, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. Seal the Pockets

    • Fold the pastry over the filling to form a square or rectangle.

    • Press edges with a fork to seal.

    • Brush the tops with the beaten egg.

    • Optional: Sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds.

  5. Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

  6. Cool & Serve
Let cool for a few minutes before serving — cheese will be hot!

🔁 Variations:

  • Add sautéed onions or spinach for extra flavor.

  • Use turkey or roast beef instead of ham.

  • Try different cheeses like pepper jack or brie.
