Making poached eggs in an air fryer is surprisingly simple—and no swirling water or vinegar required! While not a traditional poach, this method mimics the texture: silky whites and runny yolks. Here’s how to do it right.
🍳 Air Fryer Poached Eggs
🧂 Ingredients:
-
1 fresh egg
-
2–3 tablespoons water
-
Nonstick spray or a little oil (optional)
-
Salt & pepper to taste
🧰 You’ll Need:
-
A small ramekin, silicone muffin cup, or heat-safe dish that fits in your air fryer
🔪 Instructions:
-
Prep the ramekin:
Lightly spray or oil the ramekin. Add 2–3 tbsp water to it. -
Crack the egg:
Gently crack the egg into the water. Make sure the yolk stays intact. -
Preheat air fryer (optional but helps):
Preheat to 370°F (188°C) for a few minutes. -
Cook:
Place ramekin(s) in air fryer basket.
Air fry at 370°F (188°C) for 5–6 minutes for a runny yolk.
(Add 1–2 minutes for medium yolk.) -
Check doneness:
Whites should be set and yolk slightly jiggly. If not quite ready, cook in 30-second bursts. -
Remove carefully:
Use a spoon to gently lift the egg from the water. Drain on paper towel if needed.
✅ Tips for Best Results:
-
Use room temperature eggs for more even cooking.
-
Don’t overcrowd—cook 1–2 at a time for control.
-
Try adding a pinch of salt to the water to help firm the whites faster.
🥄 Serving Ideas:
-
On toast or avocado toast
-
In eggs Benedict
-
Over roasted veggies or grain bowls
