🥩 Juicy Steak with Creamy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
For the steak:
-
2 ribeye, NY strip, or sirloin steaks (about 1 to 1½ inches thick)
-
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tbsp butter
For the creamy garlic sauce:
-
1 tbsp butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced or finely grated
-
½ cup heavy cream
-
¼ cup beef broth or dry white wine
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
½ tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for depth)
-
Salt & black pepper, to taste
-
Optional: Chopped fresh parsley or thyme for garnish
🔪 Instructions:
🔹 1. Prep the steak:
-
Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
-
Pat dry, then season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
🔹 2. Sear the steak:
-
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
-
Add olive oil and 1 tbsp butter.
-
Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for thickness and doneness preference).
-
Remove steaks and let them rest on a plate, tented with foil.
🔹 3. Make the garlic cream sauce:
-
In the same skillet (don’t wipe it out), lower heat to medium.
-
Add 1 tbsp butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t burn it).
-
Add broth or wine to deglaze the pan, scraping up the browned bits.
-
Stir in cream, Parmesan, and Dijon if using. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
-
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
🔹 4. Serve:
-
Spoon the creamy garlic sauce over the rested steaks.
-
Garnish with fresh parsley or herbs if desired.
