🍽️ Crock Pot Smothered Pork Chops
Ingredients:
-
4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

2 tbsp oil, for browning (optional but adds flavor)
Instructions:
-
(Optional) Brown the pork chops:
-
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear pork chops 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. This step adds depth of flavor but can be skipped if you’re in a hurry.
-
-
Layer in the Crock Pot:
-
Place sliced onions and garlic on the bottom of the slow cooker.
-
Lay pork chops on top.
-
-
Mix and pour sauce:
-
In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
-
Pour the mixture over the pork chops and onions.
-
-
Cook:
-
Low for 6–7 hours
-
or High for 3–4 hours
(until pork chops are tender and easily cut with a fork)
-
-
(Optional) Thicken the gravy:
-
Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the Crock Pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
-
Let it simmer with the lid slightly ajar to thicken.
-
-
Serve:
-
Over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles with a spoonful of the onion gravy on top.
-
🧄 Variations:
-
Use cream of chicken instead of mushroom.
-
Add sliced mushrooms or bell peppers for extra veggies.
-
Sub pork chops with chicken thighs for a similar smothered dish.
