Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese

Posted on July 29, 2025

Here’s a mouthwatering twist on two comfort food classics: Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese β€” crispy, buttery garlic bread on the outside, gooey melted cheese on the inside. It’s bold, rich, and ridiculously satisfying.

πŸ§„πŸ§€ Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches):

  • 4 slices of bread (Italian, sourdough, or thick sandwich bread)

  • 2 tbsp softened unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 4 slices mozzarella or provolone

  • 4 slices sharp cheddar or American cheese
    (Use your favorite combo!)

πŸ”ͺ Instructions:

  1. Make Garlic Butter:

    • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, olive oil, garlic, parsley, and salt.

    • Spread the garlic butter mixture generously on one side of each slice of bread.

  2. Assemble Sandwiches:

    • Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet or griddle.

    • Layer cheese: cheddar + mozzarella (or any melty combo).

    • Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.

  3. Grill:

    • Heat skillet over medium-low heat.

    • Grill sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden and crispy on the outside and melty in the middle.

    • Watch carefully β€” the garlic can burn if heat is too high.

  4. Serve Hot:

    • Let rest 1 minute, then slice and serve. Great with tomato soup or marinara on the side!

πŸ”„ Variations:

  • Add tomato slices, bacon, or caramelized onions.

  • Use Texas toast for a thicker, toastier version.

  • Sprinkle a little Parmesan on the outside before grilling for extra crunch.
